What's makes this trophy special is its age and the fact that its jawbone is intact. In addition, all of its materials are original! Its wooden base and fiber are clearly ancient. The skull itself is that of a mature adult male. A superb quality example for the discerning collector. Prior to the American occupation of 1899 to 1913 headhunting was common in the mountain provinces. A warrior could achieve great status by raiding a village, capturing an enemy and taking his head.
