History & Background:
Philippines Igorot Ifugao ethnic hornbill headdress for women used for ceremonial purposes. This particular headdress according to the antiques and collectibles seller in Banaue Hotel was used recently on Ifugao traditional wedding. The hornbill is a female one, its old. The rattan bands and the cloth are new but the hornbill skull is definitely old which could have been used earlier on similar occassions in Ifugao. Hair intact, very nice one.
