bontoc_saknong_ofao_or Agkawin_kamuwan_or_topil_basket Traditional Bontoc Molluscs, Crustaceans Sieve ( saknong) and Container (Ofao or Agkawin) and Lunch Basket (Kamuwan or Topil). Early to Midth-20th Century items. The trios usually are brought together in the field. These items are no longer made due to the availability of plastics. - 16'' by 16" with a depth of 2" (has been re-enforced with a plastic straw) - Height 6" , Diameter widest 6.2" Diameter Top 4.5" - Diameter 7.7" Width 2.2" All in excellent condition, very detailed weaving, a very nice items to add in your collections! Ag-ka-win′ is the small rump basket almost invariably worn by women when working in the irrigated sementera. It is of fi′-ka bamboo, is made commonly in Bontoc and Samoki, and occasionally in Tulubin. The field toiler often carries her lunch to the field in the ag-ka-win′, and when she returns the basket is usually filled with crustaceans and mollusks picked up in the wet sementera or gathered in the river, or with weeds or grasses to be cooked as “greens.” ( Albert Jenks - The Bontoc Igorot )
