Wooden bag container for personal supplies "Koppit, Kupit" with a nice dark brown patina. It shows some very nice weaving repair before, but it was also cleaned at some point — still beautiful and worth adding to a collection.
The koppit was used to carry an Igorot man's travelling essentials: tobacco and betel-chewing supplies, fire-making implements, and other valuables. It was worn mostly by men of eastern Bontoc, with fewer examples from Sagada and Ifugao. Unlike the woven basket version, a wooden koppit like this one is rare.
