History & Background:
Philippine Monkey Macaque (macaca fascicularis) Skull. Cleaned, Very nice dark patina. Large in size, it measures ( 5.5" Length , 3.5" Tall, 3.5" Wide - widest area) One tooth missing (Please see pictures) with rattan band for hanging the skull. This skull came from Ifugao which has been used for traditional ceremonies. Most of the Igorots "Codillerans" uses these skulls as home decorations ( Like the Human Skulls that adorned heir old houses - very rare today, most are renovated) and for traditional ceremonies. Accordingly similar taxidermy are found among the Indians, some parts of Africa, the Dayak of Borneo and other Malay tribes.
