A museum-grade Bontoc Igorot wooden shield ("kalasag"), hand-carved in the early-to-mid 20th century in the Cordillera region of Northern Philippines. The shield measures 37 inches in height by 14 inches in width and features a curved profile, a reinforced central grip, and the signature V-cut notch associated with Bontoc headhunter shields. Original rattan bindings are intact, and the wood shows a rich black patina developed from age and generations of handling. A rare, authentic piece of Cordillera material culture, well suited to a serious ethnographic or militaria collection.
